Unless otherwise noted, concerts are held in The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage or in The Edye, both located at the SMC Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Santa Monica Blvd. & 11th St., Santa Monica. Advance tickets for concerts with an admission charge may be purchased online (​), by phone at (310) 434-3005, or in person at the SMC Theatre Arts Box Office (Theatre Arts Complex, SMC Main Campus; limited hours). A modest service charge applies. Tickets may also be purchased at the door 45 minutes before event start time. 

Seating is strictly on a first-arrival basis.

Don’t miss Santa Monica College’s first multi-department collaborative theatrical production! Created by the Executive Producer of High School Musical, Locals Only! tells the story of Buzz, a poor young surfer who falls in love with Ariel, a “Valley Girl” from a sheltered, privileged background. Set in Venice, CA, this one-act musical—filled with colorful characters and foot-stomping songs and dances—reveals the inevitable conflicts that arise when different worlds collide. Kevin McKeown, Conductor. October concert features an exciting mixture of both new and traditional music written specifically for wind instruments. November concert rejoices with music of the season to bring cheer to all, and features a very special guest conductor—a local middle school student—winner of the annual SMC Wind Ensemble Essay Contest! All ages are welcome!

A Day in the Blues

Join SMC music faculty Terry Carter and The Tomcats—virtuoso Steve Trovato on guitar, Terry Carter on guitar/vocals, Robbie Fontana on bass, and John Atkinson on drums—for an amazing session of classic blues. The band puts its twist on blues standards written and performed by legends such as Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Magic Sam, BB King, Johnny Cash, and more! SMC Symphony Orchestra

James Martin, Director. The SMC Symphony makes a guest appearance and collaborates with Venice High School on a program of classical favorites that includes music by Beethoven, Bach, Bartók, and Brahms. The concert will also feature the Peer Gynt Suite by Song of Norway composer Edvard Grieg, performed with the high school’s strings students under the direction of Wendy Kornbeck.

SMC Jazz Band

Keith Fiddmont, Conductor. Ensemble performs jazz band arrangements from the masters, as well as contemporary works from aspiring composers and arrangers. Renowned guest artists will join the band to explore the music of Duke Ellington, Oliver Nelson, and others.

The Nutcracker Ballet

Following a smashing inaugural success, the SMC Symphony once again partners with the Westside Ballet for its annual holiday Nutcracker extravaganza. Come see the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Prince, and all the other wonderful characters in Tchaikovsky’s classic come to life—with falling snow and a Christmas tree that grows—in a theater where every seat can provide visual and audio delights for all ages.
