Los Angeles ensemble “conceived as the dance company for dancers” presents a program that includes Yueh Fei (choreography: Melissa Barak, music: Huang Ruo); Left Unsaid (choreography: Nicolo Fonte, music: Bach); and Middle of Somewhere (choreography: Melissa Barak, music: Ezio Bosso). The Persian Arts Society presents the Koobang Ensemble in concert, featuring the work of composers Misaq Eshaghi and Matin Eshaghi, performed by vocalist Alireza Shahmohammadi and musicians Misaq Eshaghi on kamanche, Matin Eshaghi on tar, Nadia Sabet on tonbak and daf, William Haddad on percussion, and Ashkan Nekoufar on bass tar. Don’t miss this delightful concert of chamber music—featuring works of Mendelssohn, Brahms, Kreuzer, Tchaikovsky, and others—performed by young musicians led by acclaimed concert pianist and educator Delores Stevens of the Young Musicians Foundation, dedicated to helping youths ages 11-18 develop their abilities and passion for music during the pivotal early years of their careers.
