Dr. Rose came to Gavilan College in July 2009 as the Vice President of Instruction. Prior to Gavilan she was at Hartnell College for seven years. She has thirty years of experience working in higher education and began her career in migrant education in upstate New York. Her educational background includes a BA in English and Education from SUNY Geneseo, a M.ED in Education and Counseling from the University of Arizona, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Higher Education from the University of Arizona. In additional she is a Nationally Certified Counselor and adjunct faculty member at a number of colleges and universities, where she teaches Psychology and Organizational Leadership.
This is Dr. Rose's first WASC/ACCJC visit at the community college level; she previously served at the four year level. She has written a number of self studies, progress reports and mid term reports. She has extensive experience in curriculum development, building a positive campus culture and developing comprehensive strategic plans.
